Back in 2017, I was approached by Rutland London Ltd, a manufacturer of luxury handmade bathroom products based in Surrey. They were looking to grow their business and completely overhaul their current website at the time.

All of the photos on their site had been taken on a phone and didn't do their beautifully handcrafted products justice. Over the course of the last four years and still today, we have been working together to photograph not only their individual product shots, but portraits of those who work there, as well as behind the scenes at their busy factory in Fareham.

Lifestyle product photos tell the story of your brand, and putting products in their destined setting has been a key part of the photographic process, and allows Rutland London's clients to get a clearer picture of how their products interact with their surroundings.

Clients love to see what goes into the products they're spending their money on. That's why we made it a priority to show behind the scenes at Rutland London's Portsmouth factory, showing how they approach the bespoke manufacturing of every one of they handmade products.

Letting clients see the faces behind the brand can convey the ethos of the company, and taking engaging professional environmental headshots of those behind the scenes has been a great tool for client relations for Rutland London.

What they say...

"We have used Sebastian Engert Photography continuously for Rutland London Ltd's product and lifestyle photography since 2018. During our time working together, Sebastian has always taken the time to understand our needs and has supported our Marketing Team wonderfully with resources for both our website and advertising endeavours. We hugely value that Sebastian will always provide honest feedback with regards to the cost and viability of a project in advance and is pro-active in suggesting alternative, and sometimes easier methods of achieving the end-result. We look forward to continuing to develop our relationship with Sebastian Engert Photography as we continue to develop the Rutland London brand."

Since I started working with them, Rutland London Ltd have grown significantly, thanks in no small part to the quality of online imagery they now have on their site as well as Instagram and PR releases. Further opportunities have arisen such as the Design Week at Chelsea Design Centre along with collaborations with Parkside tiles in the Cotswolds.

It has been a fantastic experience for me to grow as a photographer too, learning new techniques and gaining experience in a new industry, and seeing every image on their website is one I took is a very satisfying feeling.
